Confirmation Class 1) To enable the confirmands to get to know one another, their own and each other’s parents and sponsors, and their pastor on a deeper, more personal level as fellow Christians. 2) To acquaint the confirmands with the essential teachings of Christianity in general and United Methodism in particular. 3) To help the confirmands to understand the promises that were made on their behalf at the time of their baptism, and to decide for themselves whether they wish to become “full members” of the Church by professing their faith formally and publicly.
