Learning And Growing With Puppets

Puppets & Co. is the name of the Franksville United Methodist Church’s puppet ministry. The purpose of the ministry is to use puppets to help the students learn to work cooperatively, to express themselves, and to express their faith to others. Along the way, they learn how to make and control a variety of puppets, how to make props, and to present programs to the Sunday School and to the church’s congregation.

This year, we hope to get into a totally new area of puppetry, using fluorescent material and black light. This will allow life size presentations and eliminate the tight boundaries of the normal puppet stage. It is an exciting concept to add to the handle bag puppets, hand and arm puppets, sock puppets, and shadow puppets the ministry has used in the past.

The ministry is open to the young and young at heart, beginning at age 6. (There is no upper age limit.) We normally meet each Sunday, except communion Sundays (the first Sunday each month), from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. following Sunday School.
